Background

Power shortages persist in some parts of South Africa, and frequent Load Shedding has left many domestic and small commercial customers suffering from power outages. Especially in the sudden change of weather, peak power consumption, power interruption affects the quality of life of the residents and the use of equipment safety. Against this backdrop, energy storage systems that are environmentally resilient, safe and reliable have become an important option for local households to enhance their power independence.

The client lives in a suburb of Cape Town and has long faced problems with unstable power supply. The house has a large number of appliances, including basic power for refrigeration, lighting and telecommuting. The client wanted to introduce a flexible, safe and compact energy storage system with outdoor installation capability to ensure a stable power supply around the clock.


Introduction

In response to customer demand, Dyness has launched a home energy storage solution based on PowerBox Pro, a low-voltage system designed for home energy storage with an IP65 rating that is resistant to harsh weather conditions such as thunderstorms and melting snow, and is suitable for South Africa's volatile climate environment, and supports wall-mounted or floor-mounted installations, allowing for flexible deployment in residential environments where space is limited. PowerBox Pro adopts a 10.24kWh high-capacity battery cell, supporting a maximum of 50 parallel units, and the capacity can be expanded to 512kWh, which can easily meet diversified power consumption scenarios. Equipped with advanced battery equalization management technology, it supports the mixing of different SOC modules to keep the system running efficiently and prolong battery life. Multiple electrical safety mechanisms, such as short-circuit lockout and anti-surge design, provide customers with all-round power protection.
